A few days ago, we reported an issue of Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL that sometimes, these smartphones were unable to save pictures taken by the stock Camera app. Many users were disappointed after facing this issue on a completely new device.

Along with the new Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, several other devices were affected by this issue including some of the Samsung’s Galaxy phones, Moto Z and E models, and the Nexus 5X.

One of Google’s representatives said that:

“We will be rolling out a software update in the coming weeks to address the rare case of a photo not properly saving”

The issue of the smartphone not saving pictures was caused by users shutting down the Camera app immediately without giving it any time to process the image. Although users can see the small photo thumbnail at the corner of the Camera app as soon as you close it, the pictures will disappear.

Until there comes a fix from Google, the only solution is that you can either wait for a moment or so after taking the pictures as to let the app handle the HDR processing or turn off the HDR functionality completely.
