Software and Hardware Manufacturers Announce Support
at Google I/O Annual Developer Conference

New York, NY (May 19, 2010)– ooVoo, a leading Internet video communications service, announced plans to join major industry leaders such as Google, Mozilla, YouTube and Opera to support the WebM open web media project and open sourcing of VP8, a high performance video codec optimized for the web.

Major business partners announced support for the WebM format and VP8 open sourcing at Google I/O, the company’s annual developer conference being held May 19-20, 2010 in San Francisco. Google is open sourcing VP8 and contributing it to the WebM project under a royalty free license. At the conference, ooVoo and other major software and hardware manufacturers expressed their support for the WebM effort and the announcement of open sourcing VP8.
