Audio devices

Your audio devices are automatically set when you install ooVoo. If new audio devices are installed on your computer, you may need to change your audio settings in ooVoo.

Tip:
If you have two sets of speakers (and at least one set has a USB plug), you can define one set of speakers to play the ringing sound when someone calls you (and other application sounds) and the other speakers for audio during the video call.

To change your microphone and speaker devices:

  1. Select 'Settings' from the 'File' menu. The 'General' tab of the 'Settings' window appears. Click Audio devices.
  2. You can change your microphone device by selecting it from the 'Select your microphone' drop-down list. It's recommended to test your microphone and speakers (click here for more information).
It’s generally recommended to leave the ‘Automatically adjust my microphone’ option checked. ooVoo will automatically adjust your audio settings for the best performance.
  3. You can change your speaker devices by selecting it from the 'speakers' drop-down lists.
If you have two sets of speaker devices (and at least one device has a USB plug), you can select one set of speakers to be used for application sounds from the 'Select the speakers for application sounds' drop-down list.
  4. Click Save if you changed your settings.
